New Study Reveals Humans Put Out More Methane Than Previously Thought

Researchers at the University of Southern California have concluded that humans put out more methane than previously thought. According to a report in National Geographic News, US researchers have found out that there is not enough oxygen in the atmosphere to keep methane from being released into the air. Scientists believe that there is a small amount of methane being produced by humans.

This gas is a greenhouse gas because it absorbs infrared light from the Sun. This absorption means that it traps heat and makes the Earth a lot warmer.
